Richard Kirk is the Clinical Director of Healthcare in Prison in Northern Ireland and a GP partner and trainer in a GP practice in Newtownards, County Down. He is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners Northern Ireland (RCGP NI) Council and the RCGP (UK) Secure Environments Group and has recently developed a link with Queen's University Belfast Centre for Public Health with the aim of substantive research in the prison population. He has interests in medical education, addictions, and the impact of health inequalities in the wider population.
