The symposium is dedicated to exploring the latest developments, methodologies, and research applications relating to ONS earnings data and earnings statistics. It will focus on the following datasets:

  • The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE)
  • His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) Pay As You Earn (PAYE) Real-Time Information data
  • The Monthly Wages and Salaries Survey
  • ASHE-Census 2011 and ASHE-HMRC datasets curated by the WED project.

The symposium will include presentations from the ONS and WED teams, outlining developments with these key earnings datasets. The event will also include a series of invited papers.

The call for papers closes on Monday 27 January.

The topics of interest are:

  • New findings or insights using earnings data.
  • Data and methodological advancements.
  • Coherence between earnings data sources.
  • Applications of linked earnings datasets in policymaking.
  • Case studies demonstrating the value of earnings research.
  • Future opportunities and challenges in earnings research and statistics.

Please submit:

  • Extended abstracts (up to 750 words, including title and research question along with a summary of methods and results)
  • Proposals for panel discussions.

Submissions should align with the symposium’s focus on earnings data, curated by ONS and the WED project.

You will receive a notification of acceptance by 11 February.
