This event comprises three sessions. Participants are asked to attend both Sessions 1 and 2 wherever possible.

In Session 1, we will provide a high-level overview of each of the datasets comprising the original version of LEO, including school records from the National Pupil Database (NPD), further education records from the Individual Learner Records (ILR), higher education records from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), and employment, earnings and benefits data from His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You will hear expert advice from experienced users of the data on how to get the most out of it, and learn about research exploiting different features of the data. We will also offer a brief overview of the application process.

In Session 2, we will provide a more detailed overview of two of the new datasets recently linked to LEO — the Inter-Departmental Business Register (IDBR) and Universities and Colleges Admissions (UCAS) data — and there will be an opportunity to hear from early research users about the value these datasets have added to their work using LEO.

In the optional third session, participants will have the opportunity to book short one-to-one appointments to discuss questions relating to their own research questions or data applications. There will also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions in the earlier sessions.

More detailed itinerary available to registered participants.
