Unlocking criminal justice data

Last month, ADR Scotland hosted an online event on unlocking criminal justice data. The event attracted researchers and practitioners from a wide range of organisations, including universities, justice organisations and the Scottish and UK Government. They came together to discuss early findings from the exciting research projects using administrative data from the Data First programme.

Splink: Free software for probabilistic record linkage at scale

In this blog, Ministry of Justice (MoJ) data scientist Robin Linacre introduces Splink, a free and open source software library for record linkage at scale that has now been downloaded over three million times. This software implements a best-practice approach, and has been developed as part of the Data First programme, ADR UK’s collaboration with MoJ.
