On 3 March 2026, ADR Northern Ireland hosted an event at Parliament Buildings, Stormont - Children’s Social Care and Homelessness in Northern Ireland: Connecting Data, Changing Futures. The event brought together experts by experience, policymakers, data owners, service providers and researchers to explore how using linked administrative data and lived experience can better inform policy and practice to prevent homelessness among social care experienced young people.

New research by ADR Northern Ireland (ADR NI) has played a central role in informing the Northern Ireland Executive’s recently launched New Foundations Programme, a major cross-departmental initiative to support young people leaving care.
As part of a wider project to co-produce data research with care experienced young people, Administrative Data Research Centre Northern Ireland (ADRC NI) recently offered a summer internship for the position of Research and Communications Assistant. As an expert by lived experience, the intern’s role was to help develop a dissemination strategy and materials for research around children known to social services.
