On 3 March 2026, ADR Northern Ireland hosted an event at Parliament Buildings, Stormont - Children’s Social Care and Homelessness in Northern Ireland: Connecting Data, Changing Futures. The event brought together experts by experience, policymakers, data owners, service providers and researchers to explore how using linked administrative data and lived experience can better inform policy and practice to prevent homelessness among social care experienced young people.

A new report by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), produced in collaboration with ADR UK, explores the experiences of children and young people in social care across the four UK nations.
A report from researchers at the Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research (SCADR) and the Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection (CELCIS) has provided new insights into the experiences of children growing up in kinship care in Scotland. The study, the first of its kind, linked multiple data sources – including the Looked After Children Longitudinal dataset, health visit data, and child protection records – to explore the lives of more than 19,000 children in kinship care from 2008 to 2019. SCADR is part of ADR Scotland.
ADR Wales analysts within Welsh Government have published a new Government Social Research report showing the findings from data analysed from the legacy Supporting People Programme. This programme has now been replaced by the Welsh Government Housing Support Grant.
Findings from the ADR UK-funded Local Data Spaces pilot study demonstrate the importance of secure, supported access to local-level administrative data to inform local decision making.
