The winners of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) Research Excellence Awards 2024 were announced on Wednesday 4 December in an online celebration event. The awards recognise excellent and innovative analyses carried out using secure data, and promote best practice research methodologies and data matching or linking.
The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) is now receiving applications from accredited researchers to use the Education Outcomes Linkage (EOL) 2018/19-2021/22 dataset for research in the public interest. The EOL 2018/19-2021/22 is an update to the previously available version (EOL 2018/19) and includes three years of additional data. NISRA is part of ADR Northern Ireland.
Data from the offender assessment system which is used in prisons and probation services to record the risks and needs of offenders is now available in the ONS Secure Research Service. Making this vast dataset available for public good research has been made possible by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Data First programme, funded by ADR UK.
We are delighted to announce that the ECHILD – England dataset is now available for accredited researchers to apply to access via the Office for National Statistics (ONS) Secure Research Service. ECHILD stands for Education and Child Health Insights from Linked Data. The dataset can be used to answer policy-relevant research questions around the relationship between education and children’s health.
