These findings are part of a series of analyses looking at those on the shielded list during the Covid-19 pandemic in Wales has been published by ADR Wales researchers based within Welsh Government. This analysis covers children living in shielded households during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in June 2020.
This analysis used anonymised linked data to estimate the number of children living in shielded households and the number of shielded households with children living in them. The analysis was undertaken to help inform thinking on re-opening of schools whilst also providing an indication on the vulnerability of children within a shielded household during the pandemic
The analysis linked the Shielded Patient List with the Pupil Level Annual School Census 2020 to estimate the number of children living in shielded households and provide demographic information about them. The analysis was broken down by Local Authority, gender and ethnicity.
