ONS have launched their Annual User Experience Survey to gather feedback on the SRS, their facility for providing secure access to de-identified public sector data for research that delivers a public good. To continue to improve the service, they have designed the survey to gather insights from users.

The ONS SRS is a trusted research environment, a platform that enables secure access to de-identified public sector data for research. It is an accredited processor under the Digital Economy Act (DEA) and provides a safe setting as part of the Five Safes framework used to protect data confidentiality. To support the ADR UK partnership, ONS has committed to expanding and improving the SRS and significantly increasing the range of administrative data available.

The ONS have asked for users of the SRS to support them to continue to develop the service, enact change and drive improvements to meet user needs. The survey asks around 20 questions about satisfaction with the SRS. It should take a few minutes to complete. All responses remain anonymous and will be included in aggregated results only. The deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday 15 March 2022.

Nick O’Donnell, Head of Impact, Benefits and Performance, Secure Research Service and Integrated Data Programme, said: “Feedback from users is vitally important to help us develop our services. Your insight has informed the changes we have made to implement remote connection to the SRS and provision of online training for researchers. Please do share your views on the areas that are most important to your analyses to deliver a public good.”

If you’ve used the SRS, complete the survey to share your experiences.
