These projects are exploring the relationship between children’s health and education, generating insights that could inform policy decisions to improve support for children. This project aims to build a research landscape informed by existing research and evidence gaps in the field of youth transitions. It provides opportunities to address these gaps using administrative data and offers a platform for existing and prospective researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and voluntary and community sector organisations to learn, collaborate and innovate.

ADR UK is supporting 22 PhD studentships hosted by supervisors at Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) across the UK. These PhD studentships will use ADR UK’s new linked flagship datasets to answer policy-relevant research questions.

The ADR Wales Mental Health research programme will focus on the matters of anxiety, depression and suicide and self-harm prevention. This is in line with the Welsh Government’s commitment to invest in mental health by redesigning services to “improve prevention, tackle stigma and promote a no-wrong door approach to mental health support”.
This innovative programme will continue to work with education partners in Wales to better understand the barriers individuals face in finding meaningful work and accessing the skills and training needed to compete. The programme will address questions of low skills levels in Wales, and the progression from education and training to meaningful jobs against a backdrop of Brexit and the pandemic.
