Lucy is Professor of Paediatric Epidemiology at Swansea University and Co-Director (Director of Research) of ADR Wales. From 2021 to 2026 she was ADR Wales's Co-Academic Lead for Social Justice, Health & Wellbeing, leading a team delivering independent, policy-relevant research for the Welsh Government. Lucy's research uses longitudinal cohort studies and linked administrative data to understand how social and environmental factors shape the health and development of children and young people, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations. She is a Principal and Co-Investigator on a number of research grants such as the ADR England Community Catalyst: Children at Risk of Poor Outcomes, MAGENTA: Maternal and pregnancy health and elevated heat (Wellcome Trust), Child Outcomes for Mothers facing Trial (COMFT, ESRC) and Generation New Era (ESRC). Lucy sits on the ADR UK Leadership Committee and is a member of national bodies relating to administrative data and survey research.
