Requesting information
ADR UK is made up of three national partnerships – ADR Scotland, ADR Wales, and ADR Northern Ireland – coordinated by a UK-wide Strategic Hub, and the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
ADR UK’s partners aim to be as open as possible in informing others how we conduct our business through our publications, our website and face-to-face discussions.
Requests for information should be directed to the relevant part of ADR UK. Information and contact details for our partners can be found here.
ADR UK Strategic Hub
The Strategic Hub is a small core team which provides leadership to facilitate the effective data acquisition, promote impact and create wider recognition of the potential benefits of research using administrative data. The Hub is based at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
Requesting Information from the Strategic Hub
The leadership and coordination of ADR UK is carried out by ESRC. As a part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), ESRC uses UKRI’s Publication Scheme, which outlines the information we routinely publish about ADR UK and provides links to help you locate it.
We are committed to openness, transparency, good record-keeping and effective communication in our handling of requests for information. All information will be made freely available unless there is a good reason not to do so, in line with relevant exemptions. Our website is developed with this goal in mind.
- The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 give you specific rights to obtain information about what we do and how we do.
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) (2016/679) and Data Protection Act 2018 gives you the right to see personal information we hold about you.
ESRC does not process any personal data for the research purposes of ADR UK. All processing of personal data for research purposes is carried out in the research data centres of our partners. Information and contact details for our partners can be found here.

To make a request under the Freedom of Information Act or the Environmental Information Regulations
We aim to make information widely available primarily through our publications, our website and through communications with our staff. A UKRI Publication Scheme, used by ADR UK, helps you locate and access information. You can also check UKRI’s Freedom of Information disclosure log where we publish our responses to the requests we receive. If you are interested in information on the research we support, this can be found in Gateway to Research.
If the information you are interested in cannot be accessed through our website you can make a request in writing. To help us to locate the information please outline your request as clearly as possible, providing any relevant dates, organisations or names, and tell us if you would like to receive the information, either in hard copy or in electronic format. If the information you are seeking is held by one of our partners, we will inform you and them to ensure your request is actioned promptly.
We aim to provide as much information as possible free of charge although we reserve the right to charge fees in accordance the Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulation 2004.
