ESRC Southwest Regional Symposium - a celebration of 'World of work' research

21/01/2025

The purpose of this event is to celebrate the body of ESRC-funded work across the Southwest and to foster future collaboration. The event will focus on the ‘World of work’ theme, with the afternoon dedicated to ADR UK data and research.

Better understanding of the ‘World of work’ can inform decisions in policy and practice to help improve people’s experiences across society. By joining this event, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with those conducting a range of research in this area.

What will be covered?

  • Talks from key ESRC-funded organisations that can inform understanding of the “World of work”
  • Roundtable discussions to outline how different ADR UK datasets can be used to answer real-world questions
  • Breakout groups to drive knowledge transfer to enable the use of administrative data, and explore specific datasets that can be used to inform “World of work” research objectives.

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in how the ESRC supports programmes of work, including people involved with ADR UK, The Productivity Institute, and Smart Data Research UK. These might include:

  • Researchers and students in the social sciences
  • Research services and technical staff who support social science research
  • Local policymakers, decision makers or practitioners, including those from business and the voluntary and community sector.
