18 February 2026
This webinar marks the conclusion of an ADR UK Research Fellowship from David Buil Gil examining the longitudinal relationship between school absences and crime. The project draws on linked administrative data from the Department for Education (DfE) and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to explore how patterns of disengagement from school relate to later involvement in the criminal justice system.
The two-hour webinar will bring together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in the intersections between school absences, exclusions, and crime. Speakers will discuss new empirical findings, methodological insights, and policy implications arising from research using administrative data and longitudinal surveys.
The webinar is free and open to anyone interested. It will be hosted via Zoom. Please note that the session will not be recorded or transcribed.
