The NHS has announced a new round of NHS England Data Science PhD Internships.
This PhD internship scheme connects NHS real-world challenges with academic research by offering short-term placements for students in quantitative disciplines.
Interns will work on live NHS projects, using NHS data where appropriate to produce tangible, shareable outcomes that benefit both NHS England and the academic community.
The recruiting team are looking for PhD students with an interest in applying their knowledge to and gaining experience of creating solutions for the NHS.

Funding:
In a change to previous rounds, please note that the NHS cannot offer funding in 2026 and interns will have to be self-funded from their current PhD funding body during the duration of the internship.
Duration:
Three to five months
