The ADR UK Researcher Symposium - Understanding experiences of education through administrative data research took place on Friday 22 November 2024. Speakers from across the ADR UK partnership shared their research on the theme of education.
The event was chaired by Alaster Smith, Head of Research Evidence and Engagement at the Department for Education, who also shared some insights from his work. Attendees also heard from the following speakers:
- Educational exclusions in Scotland – Professor Morag Treanor, University of Glasgow (ADR Scotland)
- Educational outcomes of children with complex health needs: insights from the ECHILD database - Dr Ania Zylbersztejn, University College London (ADR England)
- Children missing from state education: estimating numbers using linked administrative data - Tony Whiffen, Welsh Government (ADR Wales)
- Social inequalities: the role of subject choices in educational attainment – Dr Nicole Gleghorne, Queen’s University Belfast (ADR Northern Ireland).
