Meet the presenters
Iain Atherton, SCADR Co-Director
Iain Atherton is Professor of Nursing and Data Science at Edinburgh Napier University, with expertise in population health and has previously worked in clinical nursing practice. Iain leads the Health and social care research programme at SCADR, and is interested in care provision in the context of an ageing population. A major focus of his work is developing understanding of the nursing and midwifery professions from a social sciences perspective using linked datasets.
Dr Robert Porter, SCADR Researcher
Dr Robert Porter is a Research Lead at the Centre for Excellence for Children's Care and Protection (CELCIS) and leads SCADR’s research project on kinship care. He's a socio-legal researcher, with an interest in the experiences of children and young people who have care experience. Primarily, he is interested in the ways that administrative data can enhance our understanding of care journeys and outcomes.
