As part of a wider project to co-produce data research with care experienced young people, Administrative Data Research Centre Northern Ireland (ADRC NI) recently offered a summer internship for the position of Research and Communications Assistant. As an expert by lived experience, the intern’s role was to help develop a dissemination strategy and materials for research around children known to social services. In this blog, Hannah Hodge Waller, of the Office for National Statistics Secure Research Service introduces and discusses the process of creating and contributing code to a new managed code repository within the SRS. She interviews Dr Van Phan about how her team’s code was used as part of the pilot on using this repository. Hannah was the Senior Statistical Code Sharing Manager for the SRS, and Van is a researcher for the ADR-supported Wage and Employment Dynamics project.
The Office for National Statistics has stated it will increase the length of the Integrated Data Service (IDS) transition period and expand the IDS analytical tooling offer. This news follows a period of user engagement that included discussions with and user testing by researchers as well as a showcase event.
