ADR UK Director Dr Emma Gordon and ADR Wales Co-Director Professor David Ford have been recognised in DataIQ’s 2021 100 most influential people in data.
The ‘DataIQ 100’ is the first and only fully-curated power list of the most influential data and analytics practitioners. To be considered, the DataIQ team looks for three factors: leadership within their organisation; engagement with the broader data and analytics industry; and support for the DataIQ mission to advance the profession of data and analytics. In 2021, over 1,000 candidates were considered for the final 100.
Emma joined as Director of ADR UK in December 2018, leading the partnership’s efforts to improve access to and analysis of public sector administrative data to inform policy decisions. ADR UK’s progress since 2018 is testament to Emma’s brilliant work maximising the potential of data for public good. Read Emma’s Q&A session.
As one of the founders of the world-leading SAIL Databank housed at Swansea University, David’s inclusion in the industry list recognises the role that he has played over the last 25 years developing new ways of harnessing the potential of routinely-collected data from healthcare and organisations including academia and government. This year’s list recognises the enormous transformation wrought by the global Covid-19 pandemic, especially the way it has pushed chief data officers, chief analytics officers and chief data scientists right to the heart of decision-making. Inclusion in the DataIQ 100 is a career-defining recognition of achievement at a personal and organisational level that is widely referenced by the individuals who make the cut.
David Reed, knowledge and strategy director at DataIQ said: “We had a record-breaking 1,000-plus nominations to review this year. What became clear is that data is now a frontline tool for all types of organisations, especially when dealing with market disruption. Our 2021 list reflects the scale and pace of this change and the individuals who are responding to it.”
Adrian Gregory, chief executive of DataIQ said: “Those honoured have made remarkable achievements under extraordinary circumstances; possessing the influence, profile and knowledge to drive this vital industry forward and help create truly great businesses.”
Founded in 2011, DataIQ is the only membership business focused on the needs of data and analytics professionals from global, FTSE 100, large and mid-market organisations.
