Funding opportunity from Cabinet Office’s Evaluation Task Force: Evaluation Accelerator Fund phase four

The Cabinet Office’s Evaluation Task Force has launched phase four of their Evaluation Accelerator Fund. The fund supports evaluation across government to transform our understanding of the impact of activity in priority policy areas.
Applications are now open for the fund until 25 April 2025. The aims of the fund are to:
- create actionable evidence in HM Government priority areas that informs public spending or policy decisions
- tackle evidence gaps in HM Government priority areas
- provide robust evidence of financial or efficiency savings from new policies, interventions, or innovative approaches to service delivery.
Eligibility and funding details
The Evaluation Task Force are looking for a range of projects, including offering the opportunity to use linked administrative data through retrospective or long-term follow-up evaluations (e.g. quasi-experimental evaluations). Applications must directly or indirectly benefit England in whole or in part.
Take a look at the ADR England flagship datasets to explore valuable resources that can be used for this initiative. The datasets can underpin evaluation focused projects for England that address the government priorities described in the funding opportunity.
Funding available: Up to £3.5 million available in financial year 2025-2026 only (subject to Cabinet Office business planning).
Deadline: 25 April 2025 (18:00).
Duration: One-year projects starting in May 2025 and concluding by March 2026. Longer-term pieces of work will be considered if there is confirmed matched funding beyond financial year 2025-2026.
