About ADR UK and the role

ADR UK (Administrative Data Research UK) is a partnership transforming the way researchers access the UK’s wealth of public sector data, enabling better informed policy decisions that improve people’s lives. Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the programme is now progressing into a new investment period, with a growing focus on policy impact.

By linking together data held by different parts of government, and by facilitating safe and secure access for accredited researchers, ADR UK is creating a sustainable body of knowledge about how our society and economy function. The resulting datasets help decision makers address pressing policy challenges.

The partnership is coordinated by a UK-wide Strategic Hub, where these roles will be based. The Strategic Hub promotes the value of administrative data research to the public and research community, engages with government to secure data access, and manages a dedicated research budget.

This role sits within the ADR UK Programme Management Office (PMO) in the Strategic Hub. The PMO provides programme, project and organisational change support across ADR UK, helping to design, implement and embed change to deliver ADR UK’s strategic objectives.

As Project Manager, you will play a key role coordinating and driving delivery across projects and change activities. You will support governance, risk and issue management, project planning, reporting, partner engagement and assurance activity, while helping strengthen and promote PMO processes and ways of working across the partnership.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong project delivery and governance experience looking to contribute to a high-profile, UK-wide research and data infrastructure programme in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver projects within agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Monitor budgets, risks, issues and project controls.
  • Support governance, assurance and reporting processes.
  • Build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders across the ADR UK landscape.
  • Contribute to PMO development, including templates, guidance and standardised processes.
  • Coordinate audit and gateway review activity.
  • Prepare updates and reporting for governance groups and committees.
  • Operate effectively across multiple projects and priorities within a matrix environment.
