Ethnic inequalities in the criminal justice system
This data comic explores the findings of research led by Dr Kitty Lymperopoulou, which examines the main factors associated with remand and sentencing outcomes and the independent effect of ethnicity on those outcomes. Kitty is an ADR UK Research Fellow using data made available through the Ministry of Justice Data First programme.
Data Insights: Youth movements, social mobility and health inequalities - update
The formal schools-based education system is a major state intervention aimed at producing a fair distribution of socioeconomic position in later life. However, there is growing evidence that other skills gained outwith formal education may be as important. Our study looked at youth movement attendance and long-term effects on social mobility and self-reported general health in mid-life.
Reanalysing education experiments with linked administrative data
This report from the Behavioural Insights Team presents results from new analyses of completed randomised experiments that tested educational interventions. The project team, led by Alex Sutherland, linked archived trials data from the Education Endowment Foundation to administrative data, and demonstrates the benefits of this kind of analysis.
