ADR UK’s training and capacity building work with Datacise Open Learning is entering a new phase, strengthening its position within ADR UK’s UK-wide training ecosystem for administrative data research.
Following the conclusion of the previous investment period, Datacise is now moving into its 2026–2031 funding cycle with an expanded remit to support scalable, inclusive and sustainable skills development across the ADR UK partnership.
Datacise is now at the centre of ADR UK’s training infrastructure, providing high-quality, flexible learning resources that support researchers and practitioners working with administrative data. It plays a key role in enabling access to training that builds the skills, confidence and capability needed to use secure data for research in the public interest.
Through open and accessible learning, Datacise supports users at all career stages — from those new to administrative data through to experienced researchers — helping to develop a skilled community capable of working effectively within trusted research environments.
The programme also connects and complements wider ADR UK training provision, including resources, signposting and skills development delivered across the ADR UK partnership. Together, these form a coordinated UK-wide training offer designed to strengthen capability and consistency across the partnership.
Programme development and transition
As part of ADR UK’s new investment period, Datacise is being embedded as ADR UK’s central platform for training and capacity building, bringing together structured courses, open learning resources and opportunities for applied skills development.
The programme will continue to be delivered in partnership with Population Data Science at Swansea University, the SAIL Databank, and other UK and international collaborators, supporting the development of a scalable and sustainable training offer.
This evolution reflects ADR UK’s wider strategy to strengthen the UK’s administrative data research capability through coordinated training, shared infrastructure and accessible learning opportunities across disciplines, regions and career stages.
Looking ahead
Datacise will continue to develop as the primary platform for ADR UK’s training and capacity-building activity, supporting a growing community of researchers and practitioners working with administrative data for public good.
